Web Fusion offers ONLY Private JVM's

Benefits of Private JVM
When considering jsp hosting you must be aware that there are normally 2 choices; Shared JVM or Private JVM. Normally a shared JVM will be less expensive than a private JVM however there are unavoidable problems associated with shared JVMs. One major problem with shared JVMs occurs when deploying a new application : Normally deployment of a jsp application will include java classes and libraries. Once the application is uploaded to the server, the JVM must be restarted to take advantage of the changed classes/libraries. If you are using a shared JVM, this means that any other website using the same JVM as you must also be shutdown/restarted. Of course, this also can mean that your website will be shutdown/restarted when anyone else using the same JVM as yourself has uploaded changed classes/libraries.

Due to this problem, many web hosting companies will perform periodic, automatic restarts of their shared JVMs at times that they hope will impact the least amount of their shared JVM customers. This may be OK for some customers, but what if you have an urgent change that you have made to your java classes/libraries? Must you wait for the next automatic JVM restart before your changes will take effect? You could be waiting for hours!

Web Fusion considers the use of shared JVMs to be an inferior practise, and as such we only provide our customers with a best quality private JVM. We’ve reduced our private JVM prices down to match the shared JVM price or many of our competitors so that you, our valuable customers, get the best of both worlds. With our jsp plans, you have the flexibility to stop/start your own private JVM any time you like, how good is that!
